Police take Victor Tosner into custody for alleged incidents at Our Lady of Peace Church

Police have arrested Victor Tosner, 57, of Washington Ave. in Lynbrook, for stalking and harassment in connection with two incidents that occurred at Our Lady of Peace on Fowler Avenue.

According to detectives, on June 24, called the Catholic church, demanding to speak to a priest whom he had threatened in the past. He later arrived at the parish and handed a 54-year old female victim a greeting card containing a threatening message.

On June 25, police said, Tosner again went to the parish and prevented a female victim from entering her vehicle. Later that same afternoon, he called a female parishioner and threatened one of the parish’s’ priests.

Some reports name Tosner as the nephew of Eileen Tosner of Lynbrook, who was killed along with the Rev. Lawrence Penzes, 50, during a morning Mass at our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church in March of 2002.Although the names are the same, the relationship could not be determined as of press time.

Tosner is charged with Stalking in the third degree, and harassment in the first degree. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on July 1.
