Prior to his tenure in Amityville, Klomp served as the social studies supervisor for the Oceanside Union Free School District, an assistant principal for the Levittown Union Free School District and an academic supervisor for the Plainedge Union Free School District.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from SUNY Geneseo and a master’s degree in social studies education from Stony Brook University and also attended the St. John’s University School of Educational Administration and Accountability, and is currently studying educational leadership at Hofstra University.

Klomp is the president of the Long Island Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (LIASCD). Additionally, he attended the NYSED Network Team Institutes in 2011 and 2012, as well as the Harvard University Project Zero Summer Institute in 2000. Klomp received a distinguished teacher award from the Harvard Club in 2005.

“I am looking forward to joining the Lynbrook leadership team, and am excited to contribute to the Lynbrook community,” Klomp said.
