Lynbrook temple hosts Joint Women’s Seder

Getting into a Passover ‘mindset’

Posted

Women from six local temples gathered on March 21 for the sixth annual Joint Women’s Seder, held at Temple Am Echad in Lynbrook.

Representatives from Sisterhood of Temple Am Echad, Women of the Reconstructionist Congregation, Sisterhood of Hewlett-EastRockaway Jewish Centre, Sisterhood of Central Synagogue, National Council of Jewish Women/South Shore Section, and National Council of Jewish Women/Peninsula Section were in attendance. The chairwomen of the event were Arliene Reich and Shelley Mann.

“I was so proud to be a part of such a beautiful celebration,” said Reich. “The songs, the dancing, the food — and turnout was the best ever!” Two hundred and fourteen women attended.

Reich added that the get together was instrumental in “getting our mindsets ready for the Passover season.”

Seven women led the singing, and all of women danced and wrote on ribbons about the Jewish women who are important in their lives.
