One people, one place

Biblical garden under construction at Lynbrook's Temple Am Echad

Posted

In July 2009, Temple Sinai of Long Island and Temple Emanu-El of Lynbrook merged to become Temple Am Echad, The South Shore Reform Synagogue.

To symbolize the melding of these historic congregations into a vibrant new entity, Temple Am Echad is enhancing the space familiarly known as the Biblical Garden. The centerpiece will be a stained glass steel made from Temple Sinai’s cherished windows.

The construction  is scheduled for completion in the near future and will include outdoor seating appropriate for small gatherings or quiet, personal meditation. The Garden will also feature Founder’s Bricks, donated by those who wish to memorialize or honor loved ones or special events. Am Echad is truly becoming one people, one place.

To purchase a brick as an “Am Echad Founder,” contact Harry Leonard at the Temple office at (516) 596-1054.
