Peace takes Mercy

The Our Lady of Peace 5th grade girls basketball team recently competed in a basketball tournament held at Saint Mary Gate of Heaven School in Ozone Park, Queens and emerged as the Division “A” champions.   

In order to earn this title, the girls needed to defeat the Queens “A” Division championship team, Our Lady of Mercy. The OLP team, coached by Kelly Byrne and Bill Carter, remained undefeated while beating two undefeated teams during the tournament, which concluded in early January.
