Posted

The Stagers and Backstagers of Lynbrook High School breathed new life into a Broadway classic with their musical production of Pippin, the story of Prince Pippin, son of Charlemagne, and his quest to discover magic, meaning and personal significance in his life. The young prince, who struggles to find himself as a warrior, revolutionary, king and lover, finally realizes that like most of us, all he is really searching for is real happiness.

Chris Kelly played the hapless Prince Pippin, who was guided through his journey by the Leading Player (Jessica Karpov). Chelsea Carver was Queen Fastrada, with Lyndsey Hochler portraying Berthe, Patrick Poletti as Prince Lewis, Jeremy Paskoff as King Charles, Lauren Barroso playing Catherine and Michael Gribbon as Theo. The cast was rounded out by Tom Hickey as the Baron, Lauren O’Donnell in the role of the Petitioner, Natalie Skoblow as the Female Courier, Samantha Harris as the Peasant and Aidan Dunn playing the Soldier.

Nancy Riley directed and choreographed the production. Tom Santacapita was the assistant director, Susan Sussman was the musical director, Joseph Pallotta led the orchestra, Samara Berry guided the crew as the Stage Manager, and Michael Kunz was the art director. Steven Cuevas was the rehearsal pianist, Jackie Mott served as the prop mistress, Olivia Sanchez was the costume coordinator, and members of the National Art Honor Society assisted with sets.
