Tire thieves apprehended
The Fifth Squad reports the details of an arrest for Grand Larceny that occurred on Nov. 25 at 2:35 a.m. in Lynbrook.
According to detectives, a Lynbrook police officer on routine patrol observed a 2002 Honda Odyssey stopped in the middle of Bixley Heath Avenue facing southbound with the engine running. The officer observed two subjects passing tires over the fence from the Legacy Infiniti Car Dealership located at 855 Sunrise Highway, rolling them toward the Honda. Both subjects fled the scene upon seeing the officer, who then radioed for assistance and approached the vehicle, apprehending a third subject in the Honda. Responding officers arrested the other two defendants a short time later.
Recovered were four tires and rims that were removed from a 2009 Infiniti that was located on car dealership property, and a 2002 Honda Odyssey reported stolen from Scarsdale, NY on Oct. 13.
The subjects are identified as Ian Stewart, 29, of Ontario, Canada; Clare Greenland, 46, of Mamaroneck, NY; and Lincoln Tempral, 42, of Bronx, NY. They were charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. All three defendants were arraigned at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead on Nov. 26.
