Post-snowstorm update: All LIRR branches restored

Full service has been restored on all LIRR branches, including the Long Beach, Hempstead, West Hempstead and Far Rockaway Branches. Service to/from Atlantic Terminal is also restored following the completion of clean-up from this weekend's blizzard.

Trains will be running again on the Long Beach branch in time for the morning rush on Tuesday, January 26. Customers are advised to allow extra time and check for the potential for weather-related delays before traveling. LIRR will resume service system-wide during the morning rush on Tuesday,  Trains will be running again on the Long Beach, Hempstead, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead branches as well as the Atlantic branch from Jamaica to Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn. For details, see http://bit.ly/20pQi8f.

An MTA Winter Storm Update: Branches delayed for afternoon commute. MTA Long Island Rail Road customers heading to tonight’s New York Islanders game against the Detroit Red Wings at Barclays Center will not have regular game day service.

The LIRR is experiencing scattered delays and service change on the Ronkonkoma, Oyster Bay, Babylon, Port Washington, Montauk and Port Jefferson branches due to ongoing effects of this weekend's blizzard. Service remains suspended on the Far Rockaway, Long Beach, Hempstead and West Hempstead branches. There are also service delays in both directions between Jamaica & Atlantic Terminal. The MTA is advising customers, if at all possible, to remain at home and avoid travel as clean up efforts continue.
