The man with the long, white beard made an early visit to Lynbrook on Saturday, traveling a long way from the snowy landscape of the North Pole, with his helpers, and of course, his naughty and nice list.
Old St. Nick arrived in style, riding in a Lynbrook Fire Department truck to greet the more than 100 young guests at parking field #8 on Earle Avenue on Nov. 26. He posed for pictures, handled out candy canes, and listened to the Christmas wishes of several children during the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event.
“All the kids love it,” said Bill Gaylor, chamber president and proprietor of LYN Gift Shop, watching the smiling faces talk to Santa Claus. “It was a great way to kick off the celebration in Lynbrook.”
And after meeting St. Nick, children were treated to a movie, “Puss n’ Boots” at the United Artists theater on Merrick Road.
