Alley oops and trick 'hoopz' with basketball team
As their latest fundraiser to raise money for the children of the East Rockaway school district, the East Rockaway Education Foundation announced that the “Harlem Wizards” basketball team will be bringing their exciting brand of “trick hoopz and alley oops” to the East Rockaway High School gymnasium on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 12:30 p.m. There will be general seating, according to Education Foundation President Vera Gallagher, and tickets are $15 per person.
“This activity has general appeal to all ages and is right in our own backyard,” said Gallagher. “The Wizard show is awesome, so save the date for this event. It should not be missed!” There will be audience participation so children have an opportunity to get out on the court, said Gallagher.
Major sources of income for the Education Foundation during its ten-year existence have come from dinner dances, journals, grants, donations, and proceeds from the high school auditorium Adopt-a-Seat program. Over $130,000 has been provided to the school district and its children during this period.
“Get ready to have some fun while contributing to a worthwhile investment – our children,” said Gallagher, as planning continues for the November Harlem Wizards Basketball Game at the high school.
