Idan Raichel Project
Idan Raichel’s multi-cultural musical collective is ready to bring new fans into the fold when the ensemble stops at the Jeanne Rimsky Theatre at Landmark on Main Street as part of its current U.S. tour. Raichel — a composer, keyboardist and producer who is now a household name in his native Israel — leads a diverse ensemble on a mission to break down barriers between people of differing backgrounds and beliefs through artistic collaboration. The group released their latest critically-acclaimed album “Quarter to Six” (Cumbancha) in June. Raichel and his fellow musicians are intent on being global ambassadors representing a hopeful world in which their music-making can inspire universal harmony.
Friday, Oct. 25, 8 p.m. $57 and $52. Jeanne Rimsky Theater at Landmark on Main Street, 232 Main St., Port Washington. (516) 767-6444 or www.landmarkonmainstreet.org.
Annabelle Broom: The Unhappy Witch
Plaza Theatrical Productions is ready to celebrate Halloween with the non-conformist witch Annabelle Broom. This enchanting children’s musical tells the story of this unusual witch who’d rather be chic than “shock”! Annabelle Broom clashes with her tough witch superiors over her unconventional beliefs, nearly losing her haunting card when she decides to help — instead of frighten — two lost children. But Annabelle triumphs over the forces of darkness, proving that chicanery doesn’t pay. Children are encouraged to come in Halloween costumes.
Saturday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m. The performance runs for one hour and is followed by a meet and greet with the cast. $10. The Show Place at the Bellmore Movies, 222 Pettit Ave., Bellmore. (516) 599-6870 or www.plazatheatrical.com.
