'Making Strides' at Malverne high

The Malverne High School Honor Society, Community Service Club and Art Club, along with members of the Malverne Teachers’ Association, will host the second annual Making Strides Campaign walk on the Malverne High School track on Oct. 28.

Just as it was last year, the American Cancer Society’s four-mile walk will be held in honor and memory of Carolyn Liberti Klingbeil who taught at Malverne High School for 17 years. Event organizers said they hope participation in this year’s walk will be outstanding as last year’s, when the event raised more than $5,000. Malverne students are encouraged to participate.

There requested minimum donation is $5 for students and $10 for adults. Individuals can raise additional funds through sponsorship.
