Hundreds of residents filled the streets on Hempstead Avenue in Malverne for a night of Christmas festivities last Saturday. The evening started with an Elf Parade from Malverne High School’s marching band, followed by the village’s annual tree lighting. From face painting and horse rides to photos with Santa Claus and reindeer games, children had many festive activities to choose from. Both community and local elected leaders also spoke to residents about the joys of the holiday season. Now that the village is shining with Christmas lights, Malverne’s holiday season is officially underway.
