The American Legion Cathedral Post 1087 in West Hempstead held its St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Saturday, March 17. Roughly 70 residents turned out to celebrate at the American Legion Hall, at 233 Woodlawn Road, for a festive night of drinks, corned beef and cabbage dinner, Irish and dance music by DJ Grand Affair, and various cash prizes.
Over in Malverne, residents poured into Connolly Station, where they enjoyed the restaurant’s authentic Irish/American cuisine, including Sheppard’s pie and corned beef and cabbage, delicious drink specials and the live music provided by Irish bagpipe players.
