HED: Two stores robbed at gunpoint

Two 7-Eleven stores in West Hempstead were robbed on April 21 at roughly 2 a.m., according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Police said three men took money from the cash register at the 7-Eleven on Hempstead Turnpike while holding the clerk at gunpoint. The men also searched the clerk’s pockets. Four customers were not injured, police said.

Police said the same men then moved on to the 7-Eleven on Hempstead Avenue, also taking money from the cash drawer and holding the clerk at gunpoint. They reportedly demanded the clerk to open the safe, but she was unable to do so. No customers were present.

Police say all three men fled in a car parked on Sycamore Street. The investigation is continuing.
