National group names BOE member 'Nurturer of the Community'

Danielle Hopkins, Second Vice President of the Malverne Board of Education, has been named a 2010 Nurturer of the Community by the National Council of Negro Women, Inc.’s Nassau County Section.

Hopkins was nominated for the award by community member Kemaaleka Clarke-Davidson for her vested interest in and service to the community. She will be honored at the Council’s annual Luncheon Extravaganza in October.

Hopkins has served on the Malverne Board for the past five years and has been a resident of Lakeview her entire life. She is married and has four children who attend or have graduated from the Malverne school district.

The National Council of Negro Women Inc. Nassau County Section was established in 1966 and honors outstanding members of the community each year.
