Tenured teachers honored

At its June 7 meeting, the Malverne Board of Education honored nine teachers to whom it had previously granted tenure. Teachers who are granted tenure must exhibit strong leadership skills and complete a multi-year process of proving themselves worthy of the Malverne name. Tenure awards were given to the following individuals:

Genna Brancaccio, Special Education
Christine Connell, Mathematics
Cristina DaCosta, Special Education
Patrick Nolan, Science

Micheal Pelan, Physical Education
Joseph Dunn, III, Physical Education
Anita Heinz, Science
Sheryll Straker, Social Studies
Joseph Takacs, Physical Education
