Owing to severe winter weather conditions, schools throughout Bellmore-Merrick were closed on Friday, Feb. 5. Forecasters were predicting three to six inches of snow.

Once again this winter, snow has blanketed Bellmore-Merrick, making driving conditions hazardous for commuters.
Roads were passable during the morning commute, but snow-covered and slushy. The afternoon commute is expected to be more treacherous, as snow piles up throughout the day. Forecasters expect five to eight inches of heavy, “wet” snow by day’s end.
