Marcia Ball and the Subdudes
The lively spirit of New Orleans makes its way to Long Island when Marcia Ball visits the area with the Subdudes for a feel-good Mardi Gras celebration, “Boogie on the Bayou.” The evening is sure to delight longtime zydeco music fans and give newcomers plenty of reasons to join in. Ball mixes Gulf Coast blues, New Orleans R&B, swampy Louisiana ballads, and jumping, Tex-Mex flavored zydeco into a one‐of‐a‐kind musical gumbo, a sound she has perfected over the course of her legendary career. The Subdudes pick up on the beat, drawing most of their inspiration from the sounds of their native New Orleans, blending blues, gospel, funk, and R&B with their own harmony vocals. Ball and The Subdudes team up for some down home Louisiana rhythms in a spirited concert.
