Juniors Nadine Simpson and Toni Simpson put together strong campaigns in the 800-meter run and as one half of the 4 x 800 relay team that also included senior Nicole Coveny and sophomore Andrea D’Sa. Sophomore Taylor Held and junior Maria Skidmore turned in consistent performances in the 1,500-meter run, 3,000-meter run and steeplechase, along with freshman Riana Noto, who missed the second half of the spring track season owing to injury.

“It’s taken time to get a team that can cover every event,” Serravite said of building up depth on the roster. “But now we’re a team that is really good and has girls that can do well in every event. Depth is the key.”

Junior Kaitelan Covney, an All-County discus thrower and division champion in the shot put, is an anchor in the field events, and Mepham boasts a strong 4 x 400-meter relay team of junior Julianna Dijkrstra, sophomore Tara DeRosa and freshmen Taylor O’Brien and Sam Toppola, though the 4x100-meter team will lose senior sprinter Florentina McGrath. Sophomore Lisa Convoluci has been a consistent performer in the 800- and 1500-meter runs.
