Grey Wig alumni theater company revives the celebrated musical this weekend
Hofstra University’s Grey Wig alumni theater company brings Stephen Sondheim’s award-winning musical comedy to the Hofstra stage. “Company” takes place on the 40th birthday of Robert, a bachelor who has been thrown a surprise party by his married friends. Robert reassesses his life as he interacts with his friends and his three girlfriends. With a score that includes “The Ladies Who Lunch” and “Being Alive,” “Company” features Cathy Barteld of Merrick, as April; PJ Cirino of Oceanside, as Larry; Bellmore’s Andrea Galeno, as Jenny; and Joanna Lamb, of Wantagh, as Amy.

Sail from Freeport aboard the Captain Lou Fleet to view winter harbor seals throughout Hempstead Bay. A naturalist is on board to discuss biology and seal behavior and other marine life encountered.

Midtown to the Met 3
The Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island performs some of the most beloved tunes to grace the Great White Way and opera houses worldwide at its annual gala concert. Conceived by co-Directors David Groeger and Sina Kiai, “Midtown to the Met 3: Even More of the Best of Broadway and Opera” is a light-hearted revue of favorite songs everyone loves to listen to and sing along with. From “Madame Butterfly” and “Mary Poppins,” to everything in-between, this show will please both opera and musical theater fans alike in a friendly and casual ‘coffee house’ setting.
