Teens charged with stealing cars in Bellmore, Roosevelt

Police: 15, 16-year-olds stole a Ford Escape and Ford Explorer

Three teens were arrested Thursday for allegedly stealing multiple cars in Bellmore and Roosevelt.

According to Nassau County Police, Khalid Brown, 16, of Hempstead, Jerell Deleon, 16, of Bellmore, and a 15-year old juvenile male stole a 2016 Ford Escape from a driveway on Boundary Road in Bellmore. During the theft, police said, the suspects hit the victim’s other car, which was parked behind it.

Additionally, the three suspects stole a 2017 Ford Explorer from Greenwich Avenue in Roosevelt on Wednesday, police allege.

Detectives located the suspects on Ormond Street in Bellmore and arrested them with the assistance of Hempstead police officers. Deleon and Brown are each facing two charges of third-degree grand larceny, two charges of third-degree possession of stolen property and fifth-degree possession of stolen property. They were scheduled to be arraigned on Feb, 24 in Hempstead First District Court.

The juvenile suspect is being charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and was released with an order to appear for arraignment soon.
