Family Fun

Icky, Sticky Adventures
Families looking for something out of the ordinary might want to venture to Brooklyn Children’s Museum this weekend for its fourth annual “Icky Fest.” If you haven’t yet experienced the ‘icky’ fun, it has become a big draw for families in the region. The event involves all things icky and sticky, which includes variety of downright disgusting science-based activities that are considered “gross,” but important to the cycle of life. Kids conduct scientific “experiments” on all various slimy materials: creating sticky slime, examining mold on cheese, observing creepy, crawly creatures, meeting the museum’s 20-foot-long python, and much more.
Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19-20, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free with $7.50 museum admission. Brooklyn Children’s Museum, 145 Brooklyn Ave. (at St. Marks Ave.), Brooklyn. (718) 735-4400 or www.brooklynkids.org.
