The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District ranked 28th out of nearly 11,000 school districts evaluated by Niche.com across the nation.

Additionally, the district was ranked no. 8 in New York State. All three high schools, John F. Kennedy, Wellington C. Mepham and Sanford H. Calhoun, ranked in the top 40 in New York State, while the two middle schools, Grand and Merrick Avenue, ranked in the top 20.

These rankings are based on factors obtained from the U.S. Department of Education and include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT and ACT scores, teacher quality and public school district ratings.

“It is our extensive curriculum pathways paired with strong educational leaders and a supportive board of education that allows us to achieve such high level of academic excellence,” said Superintendent Michael Harrington.
