County honors 'Merrick Madness' softball squad

Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano recently welcomed the “Merrick Madness” softball team to the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola to congratulate the players and coaches on winning the District 31 Championship.
“I congratulate these talented young athletes on such a special accomplishment,” Mangano said.
The team of 11- to 13-year-olds defeated Garden City South on July 28 in Canastota, N.Y., to become Little League state champions.
