Empire Hose Company No. 3 Inc. of the Merrick Fire Department hosted the 2010 Nassau County Firemen’s Parade and Drill this weekend –– and what a show it was! Fire departments from throughout the county came to the Four Towns Fire Training Center in Merrick to take part in the annual event.
On Friday night, there was an old-fashioned firefighter’s drill, with running races and bucket brigades, followed by a motorized drill on Saturday in which participants raced in high-speed cars. A parade through Merrick capped the event.
