Jewish group honors Merokean

Alison Siegel, of Merrick, left, was recently recognized for her volunteerism and dedication to a Bellmore-Merrick Jewish women’s organization, the Merrick Bellmore Dayan Lilah Group of Hadassah.

The full name of the Dayan Lilah Group’s parent organization is Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. Hadassah is a volunteer organization that promotes, in addition to Zionism, medical care and research, education, advocacy, personal growth and Jewish continuity, according to the organization’s website. The Dayan Lilah Group, which comprises women in their 30s and 40s within Merrick and Bellmore’s Pnina Chapter of Hadassah, has several hundred members.
