Merrick Nationals win summer league

On Aug. 14, the Merrick SSBA Nationals won the 8-year-old National Division of the National Junior Baseball Summer League. It was the first time that the boys played together, and they finished the season with a 10-1 record. The SSBA Nationals are Brandon Borrelli, Andrew Crowley, Alec Dano, Dante DiMarco, Jake Edwards, Calvin Gibson, Jim Hannon, Sean Johnson, Matthew Jones, Ryan Kavanugh, Jack Koch, Ben Koval, Val Pagano, Zach Shuit and Josh Trook. They are managed by Rob Crowley, and the coaches are Mark Edwards, Steve DiMarco and Calvin Gibson.
