Merrick PAL offering free soccer program

Posted

The Merrick Police Activity League is offering a free soccer enrichment program featuring professional training for children in kindergarten and first grade who register to play soccer with the Merrick PAL.

Designed to teach soccer fundamentals in a “fun and structured environment,” the curriculum ensures that PAL’s youngest soccer players learn foot skills and ball techniques at an early age, giving them the foundation they need to have a “richer soccer experience for years to come,” according to PAL.

Intramural coaches and parents also benefit by learning drills that they can try in their own practices and at home. More than 50 children and coaches took part in the program last fall.

“This program is just another way Merrick PAL is bringing our community closer together and helping our kids get the most out of soccer,” said David Levine, a PAL travel coach.

The next enrichment session is planned for the spring of 2012. Visit merrickpal.org for more information and to sign up. If you have questions about the program, contact Vin Bresnaider at (516) 771-5111
