Overturned car closes Sunrise Highway

A car overturned on Sunrise Highway on Tuesday afternoon, shutting down Sunrise Highway.

An auto accident shut down Sunrise Highway near Babylon Turnpike in Merrick for about an hour on Tuesday, July 19, from 4 to 5 p.m, officials said.
According to Nassau County Police, a car overturned while traveling westbound on Sunrise Highway. Three people were rushed by the Merrick Fire Department and police to area hospitals, according to Ron Luparello of the Merrick Fire Department. None of the injuries were severe.
