Overcast Police: Man attempted to rob Merrick bank

A man attempted to rob the Citibank in Merrick on Wednesday afternoon at 2:20 p.m., according to police.
Detectives said a white male entered the Merrick Road bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money.
The man left the bank without any money and headed east through the parking lot toward Kenny Avenue. At the time of the incident, there were six employees at the bank.
Police described the man as six feet tall, in his 30s, medium build, with a mustache, wearing a brimmed winter cap and a dark-colored, waist-length puffy jacket and jeans.
