Santa swings by the Merricks

Posted

Santa Claus took two hours out of his hyper-busy schedule last Sunday to swing by the gazebo at Merrick’s Long Island Rail Road station, where he met with children and heard their fondest wishes.

The Merrick Chamber of Commerce and Merrick Fire Department annually sponsor Old St. Nick’s visit. Femy Aziz, a chamber volunteer and owner of Serengeti Design Studios in Merrick, snapped kids’ photos with the big guy, while Santa’s elves –– all students from Calhoun High School –– handed out candy canes, cookies and cups of hot chocolate.

Indeed, a good time was had by all, and the Herald Life was there to catch the action.
