School's out for Bellmore-Merrick schools Jan. 27

A fast-moving storm that dumped snow at a rate of two inches per hour swept across the South Shore last night. By the time Nassau County residents were waking up on Thursday morning, more than a foot of new snow lay on the ground. As a result, school in all five Bellmore-Merrick area school districts was closed on Thursday, Jan. 27.

The Merokee Day School in Merrick and Sacred Heart Elementary School in North Merrick closed as well.
