The Patchwork Girl of Oz
Los Angeles-based Louise Reichlin & Dancers brings its fantastical multi-media dance production adapted from L. Frank Baum’s classic children’s novel, “The Patchwork Girl of Oz,” to the Long Island Children’s Museum Theater. The dance, multi-media, and spoken word performance about a magical, modern day fable celebrating the importance of family, cooperation and friendship, is being performed on the East Coast for the first time.

Seal Cruise
Get a close-up look at Long Island’s seal population, on a seal cruise offered by the Riverhead Foundation. Sail from Freeport aboard the Captain Lou Fleet to view winter harbor seals throughout Hempstead Bay. A naturalist is on board to discuss biology and seal behavior and other marine life encountered.

A Taste of Opera
Singer–actress Naomi Zeitlin shares the joy and diversity of musical theater in her one-woman show, “A Taste of Opera: Opera, the Broadway Musical Theatre and Beyond.” She performs a wide-ranging selection of works that reflect on how much of the great Broadway tunes have been influenced by opera. Enjoy songs by Gilbert and Sullivan, along with songs from Carmen, followed by opera-influenced Broadway musicals such as Show Boat, Porgy and Bess, Les Miserables, Evita, and Phantom of the Opera. While this show will include some familiar music it will also contain some surprises.
