Inventive puppets, live actors, original music and creative design combine in a charming new production of the classic fable “The Little Prince,” on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, at 11 and 1 p.m., at the Madison Theatre

This production is a multi-layered visual feast that will awaken the child tucked away inside us all, while offering lessons on the dangers of narrow-mindedness and enlightenment through exploration. The parable tells the story of an air pilot who meets a Little Prince when he has to make a forced landing in the Sahara Desert. An astonishing new take on this beloved story, often assumed to be for children The Little Prince is actually a tale for all ages. Written in 1943, by Antione de St. Exupery – when he resided at “The Bevin House,” a Victorian mansion he rented in the village of Asharoken on the north shore – it is one of the most popular books of all time, having sold over 80 million copies in almost 200 languages.

Tickets are $25, $15 children; available at (516) 678-5000 ext. 7715 or www.madisontheatreny.org.
