All Bellmore and Merrick fire deparments respond to fierce blaze

Fire ripped through a Cape Cod home at 2086 Monroe Ave. in North Bellmore at 5:21 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, according to authorities.

Responding to the blaze was the North Bellmore Fire Department, with assistance from the Bellmore, North Merrick, Merrick, East Meadow and Roosevelt fire departments. No injuries were reported in the fire, which occurred on a dead-end block.

First to arrive at the home was North Bellmore F.D. Chief David Marschall. By then, the home was engulfed in flames, and the residents were safely outside.

There was no word on the cause of the blaze, which left the home as a shell of its former self. The cause is under investigation, according to fire officials.
