Vote Corless, DeLauter for North Bellmore Board of Education

Posted

Rosemarie Corless

The choice of Rosemarie Corless for the North Bellmore Board of Education is an easy one. Through her work as a nurse practitioner in the pediatric cancer department at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, school trustee and PTA volunteer, Corless has demonstrated that she cares deeply about children, which is the most important quality that we like to see in a Board of Education candidate.

Corless has three daughters –– ages 12, 14 and 16 –– who attend Grand Avenue Middle School and Mepham High School. In addition to serving on the North Bellmore board, she is also on the Grand Avenue and Mepham executive PTA committees. And, somehow, she manages to find time to volunteer as a dog-walker at the Last Hope Animal Shelter in Wantagh on Sundays.

During her 7½ years on the North Bellmore board, Corless has been a tireless leader who deserves your vote. Help return her to office by casting your ballot for her on Tuesday.

JoAnn DeLauter

We are happy to endorse incumbent JoAnn DeLauter, a 28-year North Bellmore resident, for the North Bellmore Board of Education. During her five years on the board, DeLauter has consistently lent an intelligent voice to the matters at hand.

Her youngest child is now a senior at Mepham High School. In raising her four children, DeLauter served countless volunteer hours on numerous PTA committees, and as president of the Park Avenue Elementary School, Grand Avenue Middle School and Mepham PTAs.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science at West Virginia University and conducted cancer research before settling down with a family. She is now a contract pre-school music teacher.

DeLauter said she is running for the Board of Education because she believes she has the knowledge and experience to represent residents’ interests well, and she wants to give back to the community that provided a first-rate education for her children. We believe that she should once again be given that opportunity. Vote DeLauter on May 21.
