An affair to remember: Prom night

A Pre-prom party with lots of food and a professional photographer was held in Oceanside. Approximately 60 people, including 25 high school students, came to the party, which was held in the massive backyard at 3406 Poplar Street.

Joann Calabro said she held the party “because they’re all good kids. It’s a good chance to see them dressed up.”

Her daughter, Angelica Calabro, 18, said, “We moved from a small house to a big house, so why not use it? And it’s [in] a central location.”

Michael Neamonitakis, 18, said, “I think it’s just to celebrate friendship.” He said the party showed “who your true friends are because these are the people you’re with for the entire night.”

Kelsey Muller, 17, said the prom is a time to “be with all my friends, be with them one last time before we leave.”
