Riding to raise money for breast cancer

The rode from Oceanside to Greenport, they rode for their wives, mothers, daughters and friends, they rode to raise money for breast health education programs and they rode against breast cancer. Motorcyclists came from as far away as Bayonne, New Jersey, Staten Island, Maspeth, Queens and Brooklyn to take part in the second annual Maurer Foundation Motorcycle Ride.

Motorcyclist David Martinez said, “I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday—giving back to the community and enjoying a great ride out to the East End.”

The annual charity ride, which raised over $4000 for the breast health education programs of the Long Island Maurer Foundation, was held on August 29.

“There was such obvious enthusiasm,” said Maurer Foundation Executive Director Susan Samaroo. “Everyone was happy to be there and there was an incredibly high energy level from all the riders.” Contact www.maurerfoundation.org for more information.
