Atlantic Beach man robs Long Beach bank

Lon M. Diamond, 42, of Atlantic Beach, was arrested a few blocks from the TD Bank he allegedly robbed on Aug. 20, according to Long Beach police.

Diamond allegedly handed a not to a teller demanding money and the teller gave him an unspecified amount of money, Long Beach police said. The teller did set off the alarm and police responded.

He was seen leaping into a car on Monroe Boulevard, which about one block from the bank. Diamond drove the wrong way down East Fulton Street for three blocks, police said. Officer Rudy Pennetti arrested him. The money was recovered. There were no reported injuries.

Diamond was charged with robbery third-degree.
