Mostly Cloudy Books bring teens and tots together

Jennifer Lin perused the offerings at the Oceanside Public Library to find a book to read with her younger partner as part of the library’s Teens Reading to Tots program. The teenagers shared some of their favorite stories with younger children and completed community service in the process.

Reading books, many will say, is a lost art these days, especially with kids.
But Oceanside teens proved the naysayers wrong this summer by coming out and reading to young children at the library’s Teens Reading to Tots program.
Teens not only earned community service, but fostered a love a reading in the younger generation.
