At the dinner former OCS president Bob Transom was honored for his over 10 years of service leading the organization. “This is a person who gives unto others like no one else,” said OCS Vice President Nancy Baxter. “No one comes close to him.”

Transom, who was not expecting the recognition, was presented with a plaque as well as a number of humorous gifts that included a stack of black and white marble notebooks, a can of Spam, hot dogs, a kitchen apron emblazoned with the name Bob, a Bob tee shirt, a Bob puzzle and a citation from the county executive’s office. “Bob always said don’t ever give me a citation,” joked Nassau County representative Michael D’Ambrosio who presented him with the document.
