Light Rain Gas leak in Oceanside

A gas leak on Lawson Boulevard in Oceanside shut down a portion of the road for about an hour on Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials from National Grid, the gas utility supplier for the area, a contractor doing work on Lawson Boulevard hit the gas line, causing a leak at about 2:40 p.m. The area was closed off and National Grid shut down the gas. Lawson Boulevard was closed from West Waukena Avenue down to Daly Boulevard.
The leak was isolated and the area was reopened approximately an hour after it was closed. One commercial building, Food Authority Inc., located at 3400 Lawson Blvd., was without gas into the early evening.
