Island Park students perform winter concerts

Francis X. Hegarty School and Lincoln Orens Middle School in Island Park shared the sounds of the holiday season during their schools’ winter concert performances.

At Francis X. Hegarty, the orchestra, under the direction of Ryan Walter, the band, under the direction of Mario Blanco and the chorus under the direction of Megan O’Conner shared several musical selections including “Jingle Bells,” “A Peaceful Winter,” “Good King Weceslas,” and “O Kwanzaa” among others.

At Lincoln Orens Middle School, the winter concert featured the seventh and eighth grade chorus under the direction of Aidan McGlone, the senior string orchestra under the direction of Ryan Walter and the concert band under the direction of Mario Blanco. Students performed a variety of musical delights including “Silent Night,” “Sing Noel” and “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” and more.

The district celebrates the talents of our students and appreciates the hard work that went toward these fantastic performances.
