Oceanside resident Marvin Moelis died on April 12. He was 84.

Moelis was born in Brooklyn, where he met the love of his life, Marilyn, who became his wife of 62 years. He was a true family man, and was devoted to his two children and four grandchildren.

One of his biggest passions was his career, and he recently celebrated 60 years with Morgan Stanley, where he served as a financial advisor. He was an avid baseball fan, rooting for the Brooklyn Dodgers and then the Mets. He also served as the president of Oceanside Little League, where he helped form the girls’ Little League affiliate, and coached baseball for 25 years.

Moelis was a man of many interests, a member of the mason, skilled piano player and also greatly enjoyed the beach and walking on the boardwalk. His loved ones remember him for his warmth, contagious smile and for bringing laughter to others.

In addition to Marilyn, Moelis is survived by his children, Sheryl and Gary; his grandchildren, Traci, Jason, Josh and Jamie; and his loving brothers, Herb and Jay.
