The Oceanside Kiwanis Club celebrated its 70th anniversary by recognizing two community leaders, and honoring one of their own. Rabbi Mark Greenspan of the Oceanside Jewish Center received the Special Service Award and Mary DiGiovanna received the 18th Heart of Gold Award. In addition they presented Oceanside Library’s Tony Iovino with the Kiwanis Kaiser award for producing the summer gazebo readings at the Schoolhouse Green. Proceeds of the dinner will be used to send children to Kamp Kiwanis in Taberg, NY. The Kamp maintains 27 structures on the 102-acre property that serves economically disadvantaged children and those with special needs in a summer camp recreational program.
