Perry Harding Reese (maiden name Perry H. Seiffert), 92, of Crisfield, Md. and formerly of Oceanside, died Dec. 20 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home, Crisfield.

Born in Brunswick, Ga., on Aug. 31, 1918, she was a daughter of the late William Richard and Louise Perry Harding Seiffert. Her husband, Harvey Ewing Reese, Jr. preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1982. She had been making her home in Crisfield since 1986.

A graduate of Oceanside High School, she was a retired sales clerk at the Times Square Store in Oceanside. She was also a former hairdresser, registered dietician and a licensed real estate agent. She was a World War II veteran, serving from 1942 to 1945 with the Women’s Army Air Corps (WAC), achieving the rank of Staff Sgt. Her military occupation was Mess Sgt. and she also guarded enemy soldiers due to her ability to speak fluent German.

She was a faithful member of Faith Fellowship Assembly of God in Crisfield, where she was active in Women’s Ministries. Reese was very active in her community and loved people and doing for others. Her memberships included the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion, where she served as past commander and held numerous other offices; Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; Women’s Civic Club; Kiwanis Club; former Chesapeake Chapter #28 Order of the Eastern Star; Life Member of the Cassiopeia Order of the Eastern Star on Long Island; Somerset County Arts Council; Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home Board; Somerset County Homeless Board; and AARP.

She loved art, and always enjoyed learning a new craft. She loved boating and fishing with her husband while on Long Island, and enjoyed spending time with the “Lunch Bunch” while in Crisfield.

She is survived by her daughter, Perry Jane “P.J.” Reese of Crisfield; her son, Harvey E. Reese, III of Newell, Mass.; her sisters-in-law, Marilyn Atkins and husband Martin, Mary Gay Adkins and husband Sonny, and Mary Lee Saunders; her nieces and nephews, Linda, Robert, William and Nancy Seiffert, Dickie, Pat, Bunny and Barry Reese, Marty, Mark and Dr. Mike Atkins, Linda Wilmer, Lisa Krause, Donnie, Gene and Steve Adkins, Donna Workman, Jamie Saunders, J.D. Clark and Russell Miller; and a host of friends and other relatives.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William W. Seiffert in 1993; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Theresa Clark, Rev. Percy Reese, Bunny Reese, and Mary and Bessie Seiffert.
