Mostly Cloudy Sacred Heart’s 47th annual San Gennaro feast

The 47th Annual San Gennaro Feast hosted by Sacred Heart Church in Island Park kicks off Sept. 8 with a Mass and procession at 6 p.m. beginning in front of Sacred Heart Church at 301 Long Beach Road in Island Park. After the Thursday processional the feast begins at 7 p.m. and runs to 10 p.m. on Thursday, from 5p.m. to 11p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. to midnight on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The festival has amusement rides, great food including an extensive menu of Italian specialties, games including indoor casino, and more. Be prepared to feast on meatballs, sausage and peppers, broccoli rabe, pasta, eggplant, and much more. In addition peaches in wine is served, and a whole array of delicious pastries.
