Despite missing two days of school last week, Island Park students put on a show-stopping performance at Lincoln-Orens Middle School Feb. 12.
Fifth-graders trained with professional performers from the National Circus Project during the week, then tested their skills juggling, balancing objects, spinning plates and performing other circus acts for an enthusiastic audience of family and friends.
The National Circus Project, a non-profit education program, has worked in schools throughout the U.S. and abroad, helping to give students and teachers a new appreciation of the arts. The week-long program at Lincoln-Orens was sponsored by the Island Park PTA.
