Q. Several weeks after Hurricane Sandy, I noticed a small sinkhole next to my blacktop driveway. The hole goes under the driveway, and part of the driveway is sinking.

Q. I’m getting the runaround from all ends trying to repair my storm damage. My insurance company hasn’t been realistic. Its adjuster and engineer are downplaying my claim, saying the damage is “pre-existing.”

Q. My basement and first floor were flooded and the concrete walls around my basement are now cracked. We removed all the wallboard and see that the cracks are very long across the wall, and pieces of the wall have even fallen to the floor.

An engineer was just here, and I showed him the space under my house caused by the flood. It apparently washed out most of the dirt under my concrete floors, and I’m very concerned about the floors collapsing.
